In the U.S., hate letters aimed at Asians were delivered one after another, and police investigated.
Riverside police in California, USA, recently launched an investigation into the Asian hate letter case, local broadcaster NBC4 reported on the 26th.
According to police, an anonymous hate letter was delivered to a nail shop in Riverside on the 21st.
The letter contained racist slurs and insults that Asians “have a pancake face and eat cockroaches, dogs, cats and monkey brains. It’s stinky and disgusting.”
Also, he didn’t hesitate to threaten to “go back to your terrible country, leave America.”
The person who sent the hate letter anonymously asked the nail shop owner to display his letter in the store for customers and employees to see.
After receiving the hate letter, Vietnamese Jackie Boo released the letter on Instagram, raising his voice, saying, “Hate cannot solve anything. We will not be silent.”
“These letters are disgusting and unacceptable,” said Riverside Police Public Affairs Officer Ryan Railsback, who is tracking the sender.
A similar letter was also sent to an Asian nail shop in San Bernardino County, Hillsburg, California.
Local newspaper Sacramentoby reported that hate messages were sent online against Asian high school students in Loklin, Placer County, California.
Asian students from Whitney High School in the region recently received a message stating “You are not welcome here” along with slandering Chinese through an anonymous Instagram account.
The local school district issued a statement and said it was conducting an internal investigation and that if the sender was identified, it would punish.
Earlier, a Korean woman living in Silvertown, Orange County, California, also received a hate letter, and the police investigated it.
The woman received an anonymous letter on the day of her husband’s funeral, and the letter contained threats to “one less Asian. Pack up and return to your country”
In addition, in Arkansas, a white fire chief attacked an Asian man on the 13th.
