Nexon made a radical decision to raise the annual salary of all employees by 8 million won. Accordingly, the starting salary for new employees rose to 50 million won for the developer and 45 million won for non-development workers.

Nexon announced on the 1st that it will reorganize the wage system significantly.

The company explained that the increased annual salary for new employees is the highest among domestic companies. The average annual salary of new white-collar workers who graduated from college last year at large companies with 500 or more employees disclosed by the Ministry of Employment and Labor was 3,347 million won.

The average wage increase rate for the company due to this measure is 13%, which is nearly twice as high as last year, and the lower the annual increase rate, the higher the rate will be applied.

A Nexon official said, “The decision is made for continuous growth, securing excellent talent, and strengthening global competitiveness.” Nexon pays a higher level of compensation for employees who contributed to the company’s growth amid the spread of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

Nexon CEO Lee Jeong-heon said, “Since last year, we have been thinking a lot about what kind of competitiveness Nexon should have in order to leap forward as a global top-notch company.

At the same time, Nexon is also changing the tone of compensation based on performance. The goal is to maximize motivation by paying the highest level of incentives to organizations and individuals that have achieved great results regardless of their position, year, or occupation.

This is to provide an environment similar to a global company in which excellent talents can work with high sense of achievement.

Nexon will also resume recruiting new and experienced jobs, which had been suspended for the past two years, to recruit excellent talents in the first half of this year. Investments such as new development projects, artificial intelligence (AI) research, and business development will continue.

In order to spread the donation culture, Nexon is also launching the’Double You Donation Campaign’, a campaign in which the company donates the same amount when employees or organizations donate.

Nexon said that it will expand investment in coding education platforms for elementary and middle school students, and more actively seek ways to contribute to the win-win society, such as supporting the construction of children’s hospitals.
