A car fell into an agricultural waterway 3m below… People with physical disabilities who saved their family

It is known that 50 people with physical disabilities who were fishing for a family trapped in the water after a vehicle fell into an agricultural waterway saved them.

According to the Gyeongnam Police Agency, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) with a couple in their 50s and a son in their 20s was overthrown in an agricultural waterway in Hwamok-dong, Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam, around 12:29 on the 21st.

Their vehicle went to the edge to make a yield drive on a narrow road, then rolled down 3 meters in height and fell into an agricultural waterway.

The waterway was filled with water up to the height of an adult male’s chest, so the car door could not be opened due to water pressure.

At this time, Kim Mo (57), who was fishing around, witnessed the scene and jumped into the water.

Mr. Kim opened the door and frustrated his hand inside the car, and one by one escaped the car.

Both the couple and the son were able to get out after working hard to open both the driver’s and rear seat doors.

These families are regaining health without serious injuries.

The police said, “All three members of the family were conscious, but because they were in a car filled with water for more than a minute, there was a great risk of drowning.”

Mr. Kim was reported as a 4th grade disabled person who was seriously injured at work.

Everyday life is possible, but in a situation where you have to use your strength, there is no choice but to be overwhelmed.

Regarding the rescue activities in this situation, Kim said, “I took off my coat and jumped into the water without knowing it.”

Kim said that he suffered bruises on his ankles and shoulders during the rescue process and even got cold, but he said that he was only soft.

In a media call, Mr. Kim laughed, saying, “I did what I had to do of course, and if I witnessed the same accident, I will act the same.”
