In Gyeongnam, 42 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) poured out.
Gyeongnam Province announced on the 20th that there were 42 additional corona19 confirmed cases in the province since 5 pm the previous day.
New confirmed cases are from 2604 to 2645 in Gyeongnam, and all are local infections. By region, there were 18 in Geoje, 16 in Jinju, 3 in each of Tongyeong and Changnyeong, and 1 in each of Yangsan and Hapcheon.
Of the 18 confirmed patients in Geoje, 13 were employees of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in Okpo-dong. Currently, about 5,900 shipyard employees are being tested, with 37 positive and 3,000 negative and 2863 undergoing tests.
Daewoo Shipbuilding accepted the recommendation of Geoje City and closed all of the Okpo Shipyard’s business sites for two days on the weekend.
The number of cumulative confirmed cases related to public bathhouses and entertainment establishments that have recently spread due to group infection in Geoje was 62.
One in five other confirmed cases is a middle school student. Two students, including the middle school student, were positive, and 197 other students and faculty members were negative. In preparation for an emergency, the Geoje city’s quarantine authorities have set up a screening clinic in the middle school and are examining 227 students and 27 faculty members additionally.
There are also three contacts of confirmed cases in Tokyo and one who is investigating the route of infection.
One out of 16 confirmed patients in Jinju was related to the Jinju bathhouse, and the cumulative number was 199. One additional confirmed person at the Jinju-Sacheon family meeting was also added.
The other eight were transmitted through contact with a confirmed person in the province, and the remaining six were self-examined and confirmed, and are currently investigating the route of infection.
In addition, three confirmed patients in Tongyeong and three confirmed patients in Changnyeong were infected by contact with family members and acquaintances.
Yangsan’s confirmed person met a family member who was confirmed confirmed. Hapcheon confirmed cases contacted the confirmed cases in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
As of 1:30 pm that day, the cumulative total of corona 19 confirmed cases in Tokyo increased to 2,642, and 470 are currently hospitalized, 2160 are discharged, and 12 have died.
An official from Gyeongnam Province said, “As spring outings and small groups increase, group infections continue to occur in many places in our daily lives.”
