The police are arresting and investigating the parents after a trace of child abuse was found on the body of a boy who died two weeks after birth.
The Jeonbuk Police Agency announced on the 11th that it has applied for an arrest warrant for parents A (24) and B (22, female) on suspicion of child abuse and fatality. They are accused of abusing their children and killing them in an officetel where they lived in Iksan City.
Mr. A and others called 119 on the night of the 9th when the child was unconscious. The child, who was transferred to the hospital with cardiac arrest, died.
Police dispatched with the fire department found traces of child abuse on the child’s body and immediately secured a recruit of parents. The police explained that there were bruises on the face of the child who died at the time.
Parents are known to have admitted to the police investigation, saying, “The child fell out of bed and was injured,” but eventually admitted to the charges that “the child vomited powdered milk, so he had a hand.”
However, they are reported to have stated to the effect that the assault was not to the extent of death.
It was confirmed that Mr. A and others were investigated by the police last year for abusing the one-year-old sister of the child who died. My sister is currently being protected by a child protection agency.
The police are investigating the case against Mr. A. A police official said, “There were bruises on the face of the child who died, and there were no wounds caused by weapons or blunt weapons,” he said. “I will reveal through close investigation how long the assault was done.”
