Launch of the’first report rate plan’ after the implementation of the reservation report system. Expected to intensify rate competition by expanding business autonomy

In the News Reporter Kwon Ji-youngㅣSK Telecom is releasing 6 types of online exclusive plans that are 30% cheaper than before. Earlier, on the 29th of last month, SK Telecom reported the launch of a 5G online special rate plan to the Ministry of Science and ICT.
On the 15th, SK Telecom (CEO Park Jeong-ho) is launching a new rate plan’Untact Plan’ to enhance customer value, such as easing the customer’s charge and expanding the rate plan option.
This’Untact Plan’ is an online-only plan consisting of a total of 6 types, including 3 5G plans and 3 LTE plans, and can be subscribed to at SKT’s official online mall, T Direct Shop.
SKT said, “In consideration of the needs of customers who want to use mobile communication services’easy, simple and inexpensive’, the savings in distribution and marketing costs of the existing offline-based rate plan are directly reflected in the monthly flat rate, which is the essence of mobile communication service. We focused on’expanding the amount of data provided’.”
Accordingly, the’Untact Plan’ was designed at a rate of about 30% lower than the previous rate, eliminating the contract and combination conditions and additional benefits of the rate plan that existed in the existing rate plan.
In detail, 5G ▲ ‘5G Untact 62’, which provides complete unlimited data use for 620,000 won per month ▲ ‘5G Untact 52’, which provides 200GB large data capacity for 520,000 won per month ▲ 5G service available for 30,000 won per month Three new types of mid- and low-priced rates, such as the ‘5G Untact 38’, have been newly established.
In the case of ‘5G Untact 52′, it is almost the same as using SKT’s large-capacity LTE data plan,’T Plan Essence’ (69,000 won per month, providing 100 GB of data) with an optional discount. SKT emphasized that it is possible to use a large-capacity 5G data plan at the same level as the existing LTE rates.
LTE is also expected to significantly ease the burden on customers’ bills with the launch of the’Untact Plan’, with a plan that allows users to use 100GB of data for about KRW 40,000.
SKT explained, “It is also meaningful that the’Untact Plan’ has strengthened customers’ choice of mobile communication service rates in consideration of the social trend that emphasizes the importance of single-family and non-face-to-face channels.”
‘Untact Plan’ can be subscribed to new devices (including number transfer) and device changes at T Direct Shop, SKT’s official online sales channel, and is also available when the self-sufficiency (OMD) terminal and SIM are opened alone. However, you cannot sign up for simple rate change and used-and-use OEM terminal.
This rate plan was abolished on the 10th of last month, and is the first rate plan to be introduced since the reservation system was implemented. Since SKT is also the first rate plan launched under the reservation system, it is expected that this will be the starting point for the intensification of rate competition among operators in the future.
In particular, it is of great significance in that it responds to the demands of the National Assembly for the release of a rate plan that can reduce the burden of communication costs by reducing excessive marketing costs during the last government audit, as well as the continuous demands of the government and customers to ease the fee burden.
SKT Marketing Group head Myung-Jin Han said, “The industry’s voluntary rate competition is expected to intensify through the expansion of business autonomy following the implementation of the reservation report system. We plan to release it.
