[아시아경제 이주미 기자] While Myanmar’s military forces are struggling to crack down on citizens who oppose the dictatorship every day, criticism is pouring out for a grand event at the resort run by the son of the military commander, who led the coup.

On the 23rd, local media’Myan Manau’ reported that a party was held last weekend at a luxury resort owned by the son of Supreme Commander Min Aung Holaing, who took power through a coup.

According to local media, an event was held last weekend, attended by Minister of Tourism Maung Maung-on and others at’Ajura Beach Resort’ on Chaungta Beach in Ayawadi Province.

The military is said to have named the event as an event commemorating the resumption of the Myanmar tourism industry.

Last weekend, the 20th and 21st, were the days when a 15-year-old high school student was killed in a shooting by the military, and other victims appeared one after another.

Local media analyzes that the reason the minister held such an event amid the military’s violent crackdown on protesters was because the resort was run by Aung Pi Son, the son of Supreme Commander Hollying.

According to local media, Aung Pi Son opened a high-end restaurant and gallery in Yangon’s People’s Park in 2013, and started operating the resort after a drug and medical device brokerage company.

The U.S. Treasury Department previously announced that the brothers and sisters had gained direct profits by using their father’s status as they owned a profitable business like Aung Pip Son, his sister Kin Tiri Tt Mondo.

Meanwhile, the Myanmar tourism industry, which has already been hit hard by the spread of Corona 19, is virtually completely stopped due to the military coup that took place last month.

Nevertheless, it is expected that domestic and foreign criticism will grow by holding a grand event at the resort of the son of the Supreme Commander, saying that the military will resume the tourism industry.
