Six additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) occurred in Gwangju.

According to the city of Gwangju on the 4th, as of the previous day, 6 additional patients were diagnosed with Corona 19 and were classified as confirmed patients 1206~1211 in Gwangju.

Three people, including Gwangju No. 1206~1207·1211, were family members of workers at Hyojeong Nursing Hospital, Gwangsan-gu, and were identified as nth infections.

A total of 65 confirmed cases related to Hyojeong Nursing Hospital were 9 workers (1 nurse, 2 nursing assistants, 2 nursing care workers, 4 cooks and drivers), 53 inpatients, and 3 nth infections.

The quarantine authorities inspected workers in high-risk facilities on December 31st and 1st last year, and on the 2nd, 7 workers in the hospital were confirmed.

Following 7 people, hospitalized patients, workers, and n-th infection were spread on the 3rd, and 58 additional cases were confirmed, and 65 were confirmed in two days at this hospital.

Three people, including Gwangju No. 1208~1210, were confirmed to be related to the Evergreen Nursing Home, and were tested positive in the test before self-isolation was lifted. The number of confirmed cases related to the nursing home increased to 67, including the nth infection.

As such, 74 confirmed cases occurred in one day, which is the largest number of confirmed cases since the first corona19 confirmed in Gwangju on February 3 last year.

The number of confirmed cases in Gwangju per day was 39 on August 26 last year, and on December 22 and 24 last year, a total of 36 confirmed cases, including one from overseas.

Last year, there were 1098 confirmed cases in Gwangju, of which 997 were localized and 101 were inflow from overseas.
