The interior of the spacecraft coupled to the International Space Station (ISS) is rotated 360 degrees through a virtual reality (VR) device. Fly in space alongside an astronaut and gaze at the beautiful Earth. I watch the astronauts in motion vividly in front of my eyes -.

LG Uple, chairman, “Expand killer content”
These are the XR contents from the series’Space Explorer: The ISS Experience’, the first work of’XR Alliance’, a multinational extended reality (XR) content association. This work was produced as a high-definition video shot in space by astronauts.

The sequel to this XR content will be released one after another. Extended reality (XR) is a concept that encompasses new technologies in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR). ‘XR Alliance’ will simultaneously unveil’Episode 2′, the sequel to the first space series, all over the world this month. In addition,’Episode 3·4′, which allows you to realistically see the actual outer space outside the space station, is also scheduled to be filmed and serviced sequentially within the year.
3 additional companies join the multinational XR alliance
The XR Alliance, which was launched in September last year, is a “multinational 5G content alliance” in which mobile carriers, technology companies and content producers from all over the world participate. LG U+ is in charge of the chairmanship.
LG Uplus announced on the 10th that the number of XR Alliance participating companies has increased to 10 by joining three of the largest mobile carriers in each country, including Verizon (US), Orange (France), and Cheonghwa Telecom (Taiwan). Previously, semiconductor companies Qualcomm (USA), mobile telecommunication companies Bel Canada (Canada), KDDI (Japan), China Telecom (China), content production companies Felix & Paul Studios (Canada), Atlas Five (France), etc. have.

With the participation of the largest mobile carriers in major countries, the position of the XR Alliance expanded. Accordingly, the second plan following the’space project’ is initiated. Participating companies plan to discover and produce the next content in the world famous performances, fairy tales, and animation areas.
Until now, the global mobile communication industry has struggled to expand the consumer base due to the lack of content exclusively for 5G (5G). 5G is a technology that can deliver large-capacity content quickly and seamlessly, but the current content such as video and games is sufficient with the fourth generation (LTE). For this reason, it is a strategy to expand the 5G market by forming a multinational alliance to jointly develop AR and VR contents.
Yun-ho Choi, managing director of LG U+’s 5G service business, said, “In order for XR content to become popular, high-quality killer content that anyone can enjoy, such as blockbuster movies, is necessary. Through the XR Alliance, which is equipped with the company, we will continue to deliver high-quality services such as space projects in the future.”
