According to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance on the 22nd, as of November last year, the unpaid winnings of the lottery were counted at 52.1 billion won. Previously, it was 54.2 billion won in 2016, 44.7 billion won in 2017, 50.1 billion won in 2018, and 53.8 billion won in 2019.

In terms of the number of unpaid cases in the past five years, lottery (online lottery) has reached about 6 million annually, and pension lottery (combined lottery) has reached about 1.7 million to 1.8 million. About 90% of the lottery winners received the winnings within 3 months. Looking at the percentage of winnings by period for the lottery issued in 2015-2019 (based on the first round of each year), an average of 84% based on the number of cases and 88% based on the amount received the winnings within one month. Lottery winnings must be paid within one year from the date of winning. Any unreceived winnings that have passed the statute of limitations will be attributed to the Lottery Fund in accordance with the relevant laws. The unreceived winnings attributable are used for public service projects such as support for low-income families.
