490 new diagnoses, close to 500 on the second day… Concerns about national re-proliferation

As the spread of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Korea continued, the number of new confirmed cases reached 500 on the 13th.

It increased slightly from the previous day, approaching 500 for two days in a row. With 400 people, it is the fifth day since the 9th (446).

Recently, in the metropolitan area as well as in the non-metropolitan area, there are signs of re-proliferation, with the number of new confirmed cases showing an increasing trend as a series of large and small group infections through daily living spaces such as saunas and exercise facilities.

Accordingly, the government decided to maintain the current quarantine system for two more weeks, and took major quarantine measures, such as the current social distancing, which was scheduled to end on the 14th (Seoul Metropolitan Area 2nd Stage, Non-metropolitan Area 1.5 Stage), and banning private gatherings of 5 or more people. I extended it by another two weeks to work.

The Central Defense Response Headquarters announced that as of 0 o’clock on the day, the number of new corona 19 confirmed cases increased by 490 to a cumulative 95,000.

The number of confirmed patients per day is the highest in 22 days since the 19th (561) of last month.

The’third pandemic’, which began in earnest since mid-November last year, has been continuing for four months.

The number of new confirmed cases, which showed a modest decline this year, soared to the 600 level right after the Lunar New Year holiday (2.11-14), then dropped to the 300-400 level, but has recently increased again.

In the last week (3.7~13), the number of new confirmed cases per day recorded 416 → 346 → 446 → 470 → 465 → 488 → 490. Excluding 300 people a day during this period, all recorded 400 people.

With an average of 446 confirmed cases per week, the number of confirmed cases of local outbreaks on an average daily, which is a key indicator of adjusting the distance, is 428, re-entering the range of 2.5 stages (400 to 500 or more nationwide).

Looking at the infection route of the new confirmed patients on this day, local outbreaks were 474 and foreign inflows were 16.

In the area where confirmed cases were found, a total of 324 people in the metropolitan area, including 138 in Seoul, 160 in Gyeonggi, and 26 in Incheon, accounted for 68.4% of the total local outbreaks.

Non-capital area: 61 in Gyeongnam, 18 in Gangwon, 17 in Busan, 16 in Chungbuk, 12 in Gyeongbuk, 9 in each of Daegu and Chungnam, 2 in each of Gwangju and Jeonbuk, and 1 in each of Daejeon, Ulsan, Jeonnam, and Jeju, etc. People. In case of major infection, group outbreaks were confirmed in saunas, academies, and sports facilities.

Six of the confirmed cases were confirmed during quarantine at the airport or port. The remaining 10 were tested positive while self-isolation at residential or temporary living facilities in Gyeonggi (4), Seoul/Gyeongbuk (2 each), and Gwangju/Gyeongnam (1 each).

Estimated countries for these inflows are the U.S. 5, Kazakhstan 2, and China, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Pakistan, Russia, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Nigeria each. Of these, 10 are foreigners and 6 are Koreans.

When local outbreaks and foreign inflows (excluding quarantine) are combined, there are 140 in Seoul, 164 in Gyeonggi, and 26 in Incheon. Nationally, new confirmed cases have emerged in 16 cities and provinces excluding Sejong.

Meanwhile, the number of deaths increased by 5 from the previous day to a cumulative 1,667. The average fatality rate in Korea is 1.75%.

The number of patients with severe gastric disorders decreased by 14 to 112. Bang Dae-bon initially announced the number of seriously ill patients to 126, down by one compared to the previous day, and then revised the number drastically at a briefing that afternoon.

By this day, the number of confirmed patients released from quarantine increased by 882 to a cumulative 86,625, and the number of patients undergoing quarantine treatment decreased by 397 to 6,884.

To date, the number of corona19 diagnostic tests conducted in Korea is a total of 704,6782, of which 6883,732 were negative, and the remaining 6,7,874 are waiting for the results.

The number of examinations at the screening clinic the day before was 34,118, which is 1,561 fewer than the 35,000,679 the day before.

The positive rate, calculated as compared to the number of tests the previous day, was 1.44% (490 out of 34,118), a slight increase from 1.37% (488 out of 35,679) on the previous day. The cumulative positive rate as of 0 o’clock on this day is 1.35% (95,176 out of 70,466,782).
