The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) announced that as of 0 o’clock on the 16th, the number of corona19 confirmed cases increased by 457 from the previous day to 8,4325.
The infection route of new confirmed cases was 429 local outbreaks and 28 foreign inflows.
About 7 out of 10 confirmed local outbreaks occurred in the metropolitan area. Seoul 155 (36.1%), Gyeonggi 129 (30.1%), Incheon 19 (4.4%), 303 people occurred only in the metropolitan area, accounting for 70.6% of the total. In addition, 53 people were collectively infected at the boiler plant in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do, and 58 (13.5%) were confirmed in Chungnam.

The number of patients who were cured and released from quarantine was 74,51, an increase of 757 from the previous day. Among the confirmed patients receiving inpatient treatment, the number of patients with severe gastric disorders was 166, an increase of 10 from the previous day. The death toll was 1534, an increase of 7 from the previous day.
The day before, 5630 diagnostic tests were made to report suspicion. At the temporary screening test centers in the metropolitan area, 34,597 tests were conducted, and 82 new confirmed cases were confirmed.
