It was found that Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Ahn Cheol-soo, candidates for the National Assembly Party, who ran for the 4·7 re-election, are fighting very thin in the preference survey for the final candidate for opposition. Candidate Oh has been inferior to Ahn in terms of approval ratings, but it is interpreted that it is gaining a’convention effect’ in which approval ratings gather after the final victory in the party contest. Both sides’ approval ratings are expected to show a super-contact pattern, and nerve conduction is expected to become even more intense.

According to Korea Research on the 11th (requested by KBS), as a result of conducting an opinion poll for two days starting on the 8th, 38.4% of respondents said that candidate Oh should be unified. 38.3% of respondents said that candidate Ahn should be unified. It is a 0.1 percentage point gap, but this is the first time that Oh has a higher approval rating than Ahn. Candidate Oh is decided as the final candidate for the 1st opposition People’s Power, and it seems that the scattered approval ratings have gathered.

In the bilateral virtual confrontation, it was found that whoever the single pan-opposition candidate would be ahead of Park Young-sun and the Democratic Party candidate. In the bilateral confrontation between the Democratic Party and the power of the people, candidate Park won 39.5% and candidate Oh 44.3%. In the virtual confrontation between Park and Ahn, candidate Ahn won 37% and 44.9%, respectively. However, it turned out that if the final unification of the opposition was destroyed and the three-way confrontation went on, candidate Park would easily take the lead.

A survey found that if Ahn becomes the final candidate for the opposition, it is better to run for the National Party. 43.3% answered that it is better to run as a candidate for the People’s Party, which was higher than that of 34% (34%), saying that it is better to join the people’s power. The survey was conducted on 800 men and women aged 18 and older in the Seoul area.

Meanwhile, the working-level negotiators of both sides agreed to conduct a second round of negotiations on this day and conduct a public opinion poll on the 17th and 18th. The final candidates will be announced on the 19th. Candidate Oh and Ahn also met the day before and agreed to establish a policy council for joint management of Seoul. The two also searched for a better world (Mapo Forum) led by former Saenuri Party CEO Kim Moo-sung on this day. At this meeting, Candidate Oh expressed his regret over the frequent appearance of former CEO Kim appearing in the side of Candidate Ahn.
