33 new confirmed cases in China…’semi-exhibition’ in Hebei Province, the epicenter of regional infection

In mainland China, 33 people have been confirmed to be newly infected with the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), a local health official said on the 9th.

According to China’s National Hygiene and Health Commission, the number of new confirmed patients on the 8th was 33, a slight decrease from 53 the day before. Among the new confirmed cases, there were 17 community infections, of which 14 came from Hebei Province, adjacent to the capital Beijing.

According to Reuters, Hebei Province is a kind of wartime mode due to the spread of infection.

Shijiazhuang, a capital city in Hebei Province, announced the suspension of the subway service on the 8th. Earlier this week, local authorities said they would issue a containment order in Shijiazhuang and conduct a full inspection of 11 million citizens to prevent the spread of the infection. Officials have ordered that citizens who have undergone diagnostic tests be quarantined at home for at least 7 days.

According to the Hygiene and Health Commission, 38 patients with asymptomatic infections were added on the 8th, down from 57 the previous day. The Chinese authorities will not classify asymptomatic patients as confirmed patients and announce them separately.
