On the 31st, the government was in deep trouble ahead of the adjustment of the social distancing stage.

Initially, the government was scheduled to announce a plan to adjust the social distancing stage on the 29th. However, as the number of confirmed cases increased, it was reported that the announcement date was delayed and a full review was initiated.

Currently, the announcement of the adjustment plan for the social distancing phase has been postponed to the 31st.

The script is expected to hold a briefing at 4:30 pm on the 31st and announce a plan to adjust the social distancing stage, whether to extend the ban on private gatherings with more than 5 people, and detailed measures for special quarantine measures for the Lunar New Year holidays.

Currently, measures are being taken in steps of 2.5 steps in metropolitan areas and 2 steps in non-metropolitan areas.

As of 0:00 on the 29th, there were 469 new cases of Corona 19 in Korea, and 458 as of the 30th.

A major case of infection was group infection initiated by IM Mission, and a total of 340 people have been confirmed so far in six unlicensed educational facilities operated by this mission.

Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun explained, “The number of confirmed cases, which had been declining until the last weekend, is increasing again this week.”

It is predicted that it will be difficult to lower the distance from this spread and ease the ban on private gatherings with more than 5 people. Accordingly, the current distance is highly likely to lead to at least the Lunar New Year holidays.
