On the 23rd, a request for impeachment of judges was registered on the Blue House National Petition Bulletin after Cho Kook-shim’s wife’s wife, Dongyang University professor Chung Gyeong-shim, was sentenced to four years in prison and arrested in court. As of the 26th, more than 300,000 people have agreed to the petition so far.

As of 1:20 am on the same day, 300,000,130 people agreed on the national petition, “I demand the impeachment of the court of the first trial of the political court. On the 24th, the day after the petition was registered, more than 200,000 people agreed, which is the standard for the Blue House response.

The petitioner wrote this petition shortly after Professor Jeong was sentenced to the first trial. The petitioner pointed out Judges Lim Jeong-yeop, Kwon Seong-su, and Kim Seon-hee, deputy judges of the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Agreement 25-2, which are the judges of Professor Chung, and said, “I urge the three judges to initiate an impeachment prosecution at the level of the National Assembly representing the people.” It is because the three judges severely violate Article 103 of the Constitution, which requires judgment according to conscience.” He said, “If you make a judgment with only the investigation documents submitted by the prosecution, this is an act that abandons the conscience of the judge and is contrary to the constitution.”

The petitioner said, “Even though the court had conducted 34 trials, the court only unilaterally relied on the prosecution’s circumstantial evidence and the statement of statements. I did not use it as a basis. In addition, the judge said, “Ignoring even the’principle of presumption of innocence’, it showed a biased progress to the non-neutral prosecution during the trial process.”

The petitioner pointed out that the trial of Professor Jeong was unfolded as an unreasonable prosecution by prosecutors’ vested powers that resisted the prosecution reform. He said, “As one of the people who has watched at least 34 trials, I can never admit that the three judges made decisions according to the constitution and legal conscience.”

Earlier, on the 23rd, Department of Criminal Agreement of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Professor Jeong to four years in prison, 500 million won in fine, and 140 million won in additional fines, and arrested in court. The court judged guilty of 11 out of 15 charges, including Professor Chung’s private equity investment, destruction, forgery, concealment of evidence, corruption in the entrance examination for children, and false receipt of subsidies.
