Busan City provides up to 3 million won per person to relieve the economic burden of youth preparing for employment.
The city of Busan announced on the 15th that it will start applying and accepting applicants for the ‘2021 Youth Social Entry Activity Fee (Youth Stepping Stone Card⁺)’ starting on the 22nd. Among the unemployed youth aged 18 to 34 residing in Busan City, applicants can apply if they exceed 120% to 150% of the standard median income. Among the applicants, 1050 will be selected and 3 million won per person (500,000 won per month) will be paid for 6 months from April to September. The activity fee is supported by issuing a clean card and providing payment points in advance.
Busan City said, “With the implementation of the National Employment Support System this year, some qualification requirements were changed and the post-graduation period was abolished, and the standard median income range was changed from less than 150% to more than 120% and less than 150%.” “You can apply for Type I (Job Promotion Promotion Party) of the National Employment Support System of the Ministry of Employment and Labor.” Those who are eligible for the Ministry of Employment and Labor will also receive 3 million won per person through Clean Card.
Youth Stepping Stone Card points can be used not only for direct job-seeking activities such as obtaining certifications, exam fees, school fees, and textbook purchases, but also for indirect activities such as food, transportation, and stationery purchase expenses. However, payments in some industries such as taverns, liquor stores, precious metals, and pets that are not related to job search activities are restricted.
The application is until the 10th of the following month, and can be applied through the Busan Job Information Network (www.busanjob.net). Reporter Lee Hyun-jung [email protected]
