As the government decided to vaccinate AstraZeneca (AZ) new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) over the age of 65, vaccinations for elderly people in North Chungcheong Province will begin at the end of March.

According to Chungbuk-do on the 12th, from the end of this month, 322,600 people who will be vaccinated in the second quarter, including 296,000 elderly people 65 years of age or older, are planning to start vaccination.

The number of vaccinations for the second quarter, which will take place from the end of March to June, is 16,000 people aged 65 and over in nursing hospitals and nursing facilities, and 5,000 people and workers at home welfare facilities for the elderly.

Inoculations are also given to 22,000 workers in 1421 medical institutions and pharmacies, and 3,000 residents and workers in facilities where the disabled or homeless stay.

First of all, 16,000 nursing hospitals and nursing facilities will be asked if they have consented to vaccination by the 19th, complete registration of the subject, and begin vaccination when the AZ vaccine is transported on the 22nd.

The vaccination of the remaining subjects will be carried out in turn after checking the preparation status of each facility and institution in accordance with the government’s vaccine delivery plan.

From the second quarter, as vaccinations are given to the general public, 14 vaccination centers installed in each city and county, including 4 Cheongju, will be in full-scale operation.

Vaccinations at 585 consigned medical institutions in the province will also be started, and visits to 14 public health centers will be conducted for subjects with limited mobility.

The first vaccination center in Chungbuk, established in Cheongju Sangdang-gu Office Sports Center, will finish maintenance this week and conduct simulation training for each situation, such as transferring patients with adverse reactions and outbreaks of power outages.

After the 2nd quarter vaccination is over, vaccinations in the 3rd quarter (July-September) for soldiers, police, and fire departments aged 18-64 and vaccinations in the 4th quarter (October-November) for those who have not been vaccinated will also begin.

Chungbuk-do Health and Welfare Bureau Chief Jeon Jeong-ae said, “I think we can start vaccinations over 65 years old from March 22, when vaccination consent is confirmed and vaccine delivery ends.”

The vaccination in the first quarter, which started on the 26th of last month, has been smoothly progressed, and 16,248 out of 23,548 subjects until the day before have been vaccinated, showing an inoculation rate of 68.9%.

Reports of adverse reactions increased by 12 on this day to total 184 cases. In most cases, there have been no cases of serious adverse reaction symptoms such as fever, muscle pain, and nausea.
