The Seoul Metropolitan Government said that 218 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) came out in Seoul for 18 hours from 0 am to 6 pm on the 16th.
This is the highest record in 41 days since January 6 (297).
The number of new confirmed cases in Seoul per day continued from January 7 (191) to this month (112) for 32 days, followed by a record of 90 on the 8th of this month, then 175→183 from the next day to the 15th. →158→136→152→150→161, up and down from 100.
As the number of confirmed patients on the 16th, which reflected the test results on the 15th, immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday, exceeded 200, there is growing concern about re-proliferation of Corona 19.
Of the new confirmed patients on this day, 8 were inflows from abroad, and the remaining 210 were domestically infected.
Among the cases of group infection, 22 people related to Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital in Yongsan-gu, 5 related to acquaintances in Yongsan-gu, and 3 related to sports facilities in Guro-gu were added. Infections related to restaurants in Gwangjin-gu and sports facilities in Seodaemun-gu increased by two, and infections related to saunas in Gangbuk-gu and Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong-gu increased by one.
There were 4 cases due to other group infections, and 101 contacts with other confirmed cases, 7 contacts with other confirmed cases, and 62 cases when the route of infection is being investigated.
The cumulative number of corona 19 confirmed patients in Seoul was 26,000,702 as of 6 pm on the day.
