[2보] Byun Chang-heum LH land speculation “I don’t care about my seat…I follow the decision”

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Byun Chang-heum said on the 12th that the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) on the theory of responsibility related to the alleged land speculation, “I do not dwell on the seat” and “I will follow the decision of (Cheong Wa Dae).”

Minister Byeon attended the general meeting of the National Assembly’s National Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee on that day and said, “We will make the best possible alternatives so that the people worry about the LH crisis can be resolved, and we will take responsibility for the fundamental rebirth of LH.”

He added, “Whenever the role is not evaluated as sufficient, I will not dwell on the seat and follow the decision.”

After it was revealed that some of the LH’s employees were the pre-owners of the 3rd new towns such as Gwangmyeong Siheung and the land around them as new towns, the responsibility for Minister Byeon, formerly LH president, has emerged.

In particular, 11 out of 20 people who were referred to the police were found to have been speculating on the ground while Minister Byeon was in office as President of LH.

When asked by Rep. Kim Eun-hye, the power of the people, “Did you express your gratitude to the president?”

Rep. Kim asked again, “Do you have any plans to express your appreciation?” He said, “I will consider various things to judge.”

Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun announced the results of the first joint governmental investigation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and LH employees the day before, saying, “Minister Byun cannot be free of responsibility,” and “I will consider (about his move).”

Minister Byun took office as Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on December 29 last year, and has been serving as minister for 74 days until that day.
