Choi Kang-wook, the head of the Open Democratic Party, was convicted in a court for falsely issuing an intern certificate for the son of former Justice Minister Cho Kook, and said, “I save that there is a long way to go.”

He said on his Facebook page on the 28th, “I am so sorry for delivering uncomfortable news,” and said, “It seems that the common sense I had while living as a lawyer was not common sense.”

CEO Choi said, “I will look back on myself,” and said to the court, “The prosecutor, even though he had never done an internship or an experience activity at all, interrupted the entrance exam by writing a confirmation letter. I judged it.”

Then he wrote, “I realize that there is a long way to go. I will not get tired and will not be broken.”

Earlier this morning, Judge Jong-Geon Jeong, who was solely responsible for criminal 9 of the Seoul Central District Court, sentenced CEO Choi, who was charged with disability for obstruction to work, to eight months in prison and two years of probation. Judge Jeong decided that the false writing was correct, saying, “The confirmation document prepared by CEO Choi does not match the objective content and the actual performance content.”

In addition, Judge Jeong added, “The serious reflection of the offender in the offense is also considerably reflected in the sentencing, but there is no element of sentencing that is advantageous for Choi.”

Immediately after the results of the trial came out, Choi met with reporters at the court and said, “I cannot erase the impression that the prosecution was being deceived by the facts that the prosecution unilaterally spread from the terms used by the court.” He also said, “I will do my best to contain the prosecution’s runaway.”
