Janet Lee (50, Korean name Jin-hee Lee), who was famous as the world’s top pocket ball in the 1990s, was known to have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

The Washington Post (WP) reported on the 18th (local time) that Janet Lee was recently diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer.

Janet Lee’s family and acquaintances said, “Currently, the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes,” through the funding site GOFUNDME.

They also added, “We are currently doing a fundraising campaign.”

Janet Lee said, “I will fight cancer by mobilizing all possible methods, including chemotherapy and slowing the progression of the disease for my three younger daughters.”

Janet Lee, who was nicknamed’Black Tarantula’ with a 175cm large tile and a charismatic expression, started professional in 1993 and won the World Women’s Professional Association (WPBA) Championship in 1994. That year, he was ranked number one in the world rankings, and in 1998 he was awarded the WPBA Player of the Year award.
