Dutch coffee, made by pouring cold water over coffee powder, is popular these days.
When I randomly picked and tested Dutch coffees sold online, some products were infested with bacteria.
In one product, more than 14,000 times the standard value of bacteria appeared.

Since Dutch coffee is brewed in cold water for up to 12 hours without heat treatment, thorough hygiene is essential because it is more susceptible to the growth of microorganisms and bacteria.
Dutch coffee makers that did not clean as well as sterilize were discovered in abundance.

As a result of collecting and testing 39 Dutch coffee products sold on the Internet by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the number of bacteria in 7 products exceeded the standard.
There were also products with bacteria detected as high as 14,000 times the standard value.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety explained that the bacteria are not harmful to the human body, but if the bacteria multiply, the product’s decay rate could be accelerated.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has stopped selling the 7 Dutch coffee products that were detected this time and has the remaining products discarded.
