1,305 adverse reactions to the Corona 19 vaccine increased… 0.97% of cumulative inoculation

Reports of suspected adverse reactions after vaccination against the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) increased by 1,305 in one day. Cumulative adverse reactions were 0.97% of those inoculated.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that as of 0 o’clock on the 6th, a total of 1,305 new reports of suspected adverse reactions were received, including 11 suspected cases of anaphylaxis and 2 cases of hospitalization in the intensive care unit. The cumulative number of death reports released the day before was maintained.

By type of vaccine, there were 1,300 cases related to AstraZeneca vaccination, far more than 5 cases related to Pfizer vaccination. However, this is attributed to the fact that the number of AstraZeneca vaccinations (cumulative 291,131) than Pfizer vaccinations (5,249).

By this day, the ratio of the number of suspected adverse reactions reported (2,883 cases) compared to the cumulative inoculations (296,000 people) was 0.97%. Although the rate of adverse reactions of general vaccines is around 0.1% to 0.5%, it is too early to conclude that the adverse reactions are more common than other vaccines, as the COVID-19 vaccination is a concern of the nation.

By type, in the case of severe cases, in addition to the existing convulsions, two new reports of hospitalization in the intensive care unit after vaccination were received, resulting in a total of three cases. In the case of suspected anaphylaxis, which is a severe systemic allergic reaction, there are 24 cases, including 1 anaphylactic shock and 23 anaphylactic-like reactions.

Anaphylaxis-like reaction refers to a case in which symptoms such as shortness of breath and urticaria appear within 2 hours after vaccination. The remaining 2,849 cases were all mild cases such as headache, fever, nausea, and vomiting, the authorities said.
