117,000 home sales volume in November… 25.9% increase from the previous month

The number of home sales in November 2020 (116,758 cases) announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport increased 25.9% from the previous month (92,769 cases). The increase was 26.3% compared to the same month last year (94,13 cases), and 34.8% from the average of 5 years (86,13 cases).

In November, the cumulative home sales volume (1,389,024 cases) increased 65.8% from the same period of the previous year (686,000 cases), and 28.5% from the 5-year average (886,000 cases).

By region, the metropolitan area (41,117 cases) decreased by 1.8% compared to the previous month and 15.3% compared to the same month last year. The number of provinces (76,641 cases) increased 48.7% from the previous month and 72.4% from the same month last year.

As of November’s cumulative basis, the metropolitan area (5799,425 cases) increased 72.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, and rural areas (559599 cases) increased 59.7%.

By type, apartments (89,660 cases) increased 35.5% from the previous month and 34.3% from the same month last year. The number of apartments (27,098 cases) increased 1.9% from the previous month and 5.7% from the same month last year.

In November, the cumulative apartment transaction volume (82,8051 cases) increased 81.1% compared to the same period of the previous year, and 35.4% outside the apartment (31,973 cases).

The monthly rent transaction volume (hereinafter referred to as cheonsei transaction volume) aggregated based on the data as of November 2020 was 173,578, an increase of 0.4% from the previous month (172,815). Compared to the same month of the previous year (15,345 cases), it increased 13.2% and compared to the average of 5 years (14,246 cases), it increased 21.9%.

In November, the cumulative monthly rent transaction volume (2,6,401 cases) increased 12.2% from the same period of the previous year (178,879 cases), and 24.7% from the 5-year average (1.6 million, 9059 cases).

In November 2020, the share of monthly rent in the cheonsei transaction volume was 42.0%, an increase of 3.0%p from the same month last year (39.0%), and 1.1%p from the 5-year average (40.9%).

By region, the metropolitan area (11,9961 cases) increased 0.7% from the previous month and 18.6% from the same month last year. The number of provinces (53,617 cases) decreased by 0.1% from the previous month and increased by 2.6% from the same month of the previous year.

By type, apartments (85,227 cases) decreased by 1.1% from the previous month and increased by 11.3% from the same month last year. The number of apartments (84,351 cases) increased 1.9% from the previous month and 15.1% from the same month last year.

Jeonse by lease type (10,0613 cases) decreased by 2.9% from the previous month and increased by 7.6% from the same month last year. Monthly rent (72,965 cases) increased 5.5% from the previous month and 22.0% from the same month last year.

The share of monthly rent among the total monthly rent transaction volume in November 2020 was 40.5%, an increase of 0.2%p from the previous month (40.3%), and an increase of 0.4%p from the same period last year (40.1%).
