Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol met Kim Hyung-seok, an emeritus professor at Yonsei University, who is called the ‘101-year-old philosopher’ to receive advice. This meeting is the first outside schedule after the retirement of former President Yoon, and Professor Kim is said to have particularly emphasized’common sense’ and’righteousness’.

According to the legal profession on the 22nd, former President Yun visited the home of Emeritus Professor Kim on the 19th. The meeting between the two was concluded with the first contact by former President Yoon, “I’ll see you”, and Emeritus Professor Kim willingly accepted it.

Former President Yoon is known to have read and sympathized with Professor Emeritus Kim’s book, “I Live A Hundred Years,” and respected Professor Emeritus Kim. There is also an acquaintance between Yoon Ki-joong, a 90-year-old professor emeritus of Yonsei University and Professor Kim, the father of former President Yoon, and it is said that the dialogue between the two sides started with regards and health and naturally led to remarks and recognition of social issues.

Emeritus Professor Kim said to President Yoon, “It is common to say that the opposition party has no talent, but the ruling party does not have talent. It is said that the important thing is not to have one competent person, but to have people who know how to work together.”

Prof. Kim also said, “The government will say that common sense doesn’t work because it is impossible to guess’which direction it will go in.’ It is common sense that if justice is lost, that society cannot be sustained. Judging for the country will lead to reform, but judging for the regime will lead to deformity.”

In announcing his resignation on the 4th, Yoon said, “The constitutional spirit and the rule of law system that have supported this country are being destroyed.” .

Afterwards, President Yoon, who had been living without a special schedule, met Professor Emeritus Kim and listened to advice on various issues.
