The 100 million won worth of precious metals left in the taxi were recovered by the police officers using their base.

According to the Daegu Police Agency on the 9th, a woman in her 50s accidentally left her bag in a taxi at around 12:40 on the 5th. In the bag, there were about 100 pieces of precious metals such as earrings, necklaces and bracelets. In terms of the amount, it was a high-priced product, amounting to about 100 million won.

The problem was that the woman could not remember the vehicle type or vehicle number of the taxi, and it was difficult to find the whereabouts of the taxi by paying the fare in cash. The only thing the woman remembers was that she took a taxi in Daegu Station and got off in front of a hospital in Seo-gu, Daegu. The embarrassed woman called 112 and explained the situation.

After receiving the report, Sergeant Yoon Dal-hwa and General Kim Gyeong-taek, patrol 1 team at Seodo District University, first reassured the reporter, and then checked the closed circuit TV (CCTV) near the hospital where the woman got off. Through this, it was found that the taxi car model was a silver K5 and that there was an advertisement for a specific hospital on the outside. Vehicle number was unknown.

Sergeant Yoon and Gyeonggi Kim noted that the reporter took a taxi from the platform in front of the Daegu Station. It was determined that the taxi is likely to frequently visit the platform at the Daegu Station. Sergeant Yoon and Kyungjang Kim searched and searched each and every silver K5 taxi in and out of the Daegu Station platform along with the reporter. Then, around 2:40 pm, I found the taxi and retrieved the bag that the reporter left behind in the back seat.

The reporter, who had returned the bag to the policeman’s base, said, “Thank you for finding it.” Sergeant Yoon and General Manager Kim said, “I am glad to help the people in need by recovering the lost items.”
