A vicious criminal who raped or murdered a 10-year-old girl in China escaped the death penalty by surrender and was sentenced to death again at the final trial.

According to CCTVs in China on the 28th, the Guangxi People’s Court of China sentenced the death penalty to the death penalty in the final trial of the murderer Yang Guang-i (29, 楊光毅). The Chinese media that delivered this news all at once made comments saying “the judgment that realized justice”.

Yang has been accused of raping and stabbing a 10-year-old girl living in the same village on October 4, 2018.

She found a girl selling fruit in the village market at the time and waited while wandering around. After strangling the girl who was about to return home, she passed out and dragged her to the hillside. When the awakened girl tried to run away, Yang stabbed the girl, raped her, and ran away with 32 yuan (about 5,300 won) earned by the girl selling fruit. The girl abandoned in the hills eventually died.

According to Teng Xun Mang, on the 6th, two days after the incident, Yang went to the police station by his father’s hand to confess the crime. The death penalty was sentenced at the first trial for a brutal crime. However, at the second trial, taking into account the fact that Yang had surrendered, the sentence of suspending the executions became a hot topic of debate in China. Chun Li Yan, the mother of the victim girl, who could not accept the results of the second trial, appealed to the Supreme People’s Court, the highest court in China.

Yang showed no signs of regret during the trial. The lawyer of the victim’s family said, “The image of the sheep looked as if he wanted the death penalty to be imposed on him.”

In the final trial, the Supreme People’s Court of China withdrew the second trial ruling and sentenced it to death. The Supreme People’s Court said, “The method is extremely cruel, and the case is heinous, so it has a great impact on society.”

In addition, the Supreme People’s Court emphasized that “crimes against minors of various kinds must be severely punished, and in particular, sexual crimes must not be tolerated or looked after.”

The victim girl’s mother, Chun, raised five children (four daughters and one son) alone after her husband died in 2009 trying to save another child from a drowned family. The daughter who lost her life this time was the youngest daughter. Immediately after the ruling, Chun said, “I raised my children by myself, but I enjoyed each day, but this incident broke my happiness.”
