I was surprised again when I opened the car door. It was spacious and comfortable enough to remind you of the interior of a mid-sized or higher imported luxury sedan.

This thought came to mind after seeing the’Ioniq 5’that Hyundai Motor Company first released to the media. It is a car that has attracted attention because of its sophisticated appearance, application of eco-friendly materials, and various convenience specifications, but it is an analysis that the real charm is in the spacious interior space.

The Ioniq 5 is the first car produced by Hyundai Motor Company based on’E-GMP’, a platform exclusively for next-generation electric vehicles. The driver’s interest is high, as 23,700 people flocked only on the first day of the contract.

Hyundai Motors designed the interior of the vehicle and applied the theme of’comfortable living space’. The company explained that it tried to create a seamless space where the outside and the inside are seamlessly connected.

When I sat in the driver’s seat, I was satisfied with a wider and more comfortable space than I thought. It was made in the form of a crossover vehicle (CUV), but there was no shortage of overhead space. Even if an adult male about 180cm tall sits, both the first and second rows are spacious.

The first row driver’s seat allows the seat back angle to be adjusted in various ways. It is also possible to implement a’zero gravity posture’ used in massage chairs. It seems that it can be used comfortably when sitting in the driver’s seat while charging the electric vehicle. In the center fascia, it is remarkable that the location of the blower that was with the heater was moved to realize a simple design. When you sit in the driver’s seat, you can see a 12-inch dashboard (cluster) and a 12-inch infotainment system screen reminiscent of a tablet PC.

When the second row seats are folded, the trunk space is even more spacious. Adult males can lie down, so they can be’cool’. If you use an adapter, you can use the vehicle charging terminal as a 220V terminal. It means that you can easily use electrical appliances while you are stubborn. Both the 1st and 2nd row seats can be moved electrically. In the case of the second row seat angle, it can be easily moved with the touch button on the center fascia.

The IONIQ 5 is not an internal combustion locomotive and does not require a separate engine space. Thanks to this, you can take a wide distance between the axles, and there is a small space in the front, so you can use it like a trunk.

The appearance is future-oriented. On the front, you can feel the emptyness of the radiator grille of the existing internal combustion locomotive. Parametric pixel is a design element unique to IONIQ 5 that embodies the’pixel’, the smallest unit that composes an image.

In harmony with the angular character line on the side of the vehicle, it has completed an image with a momentum that seems to be hitting forward. In the rear part, the tail lights are long and thin to the left and right, giving a concise and dignified impression.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Company is receiving pre-contracts for Ionic 5 in Korea through branches nationwide. The contract for two long-range models is given priority, and the exclusive price is in the early 50 million won range and the prestige is in the mid 50 million won range.
