
Another Hyundai Motor Kona electric car fire accident. It has been a month since it was recalled by Hyundai Motor Company.
The Daegu Dalseo Fire Department reported that a Kona electric car fire accident occurred at an electric vehicle fast charging station installed in front of a taxi company in Dalseo-gu, Daegu at 4:11 pm on the 23rd.
According to a fire department official, the battery under the Kona electric car caught fire on that day. It is reported that the vehicle fire was extinguished at 7:55 pm on the same day, about 3 hours and 40 minutes.
An official from Dalseo Fire Station explained, “The accident vehicle has a history of being recalled in December of last year,” and “the owner purchased the vehicle in June 2018.”
At the beginning of the fire, the owner was not present, and a nearby citizen directly disconnected the charger connected to the vehicle.
The rear seat butt rest inside the accident vehicle was removed to extinguish the fire, and the battery part under the rear seat was burned in the fire. Part of the interior and exterior of the vehicle were not affected by the vehicle fire.
Hyundai Motor Company sent a tow truck to the accident site at 7:47 pm that day. The accident vehicle was loaded onto a towed vehicle and moved to another location. Hyundai Motor Company began investigating the cause of the accident.
