Let me tell you about special quarantine measures.

First is the status of occurrence.

To date, a total of 941 cases of wild boar African swine fever have occurred in 12 cities and counties in Gyeonggi and Gangwon. Until now, fences have been installed, wild boar search, capture, and intensive disinfection have been used to prevent the spread, but recently, a total of 10 cases of wild boar African swine fever occurred in Yeongwol and Yangyang, Gangwon-do, outside the wide area fence.

Diagnosis of the situation.

According to experts, the outbreak of African swine fever in wild boars in the suburbs of the wide area is a very serious situation in which African swine fever can spread nationwide in the future.

In particular, while most of the pig farms are near the hills, it is easy to infiltrate the virus, while some farms have insufficient disinfection and quarantine facilities, and the conditions for quarantine are still weak considering livestock vehicles entering the farm and moving between cities and cities.

In addition, there is a concern that the number of wild boar populations will increase significantly during the spring season, so experts say that a drastic reduction in the number of wild boars is necessary during winter.

As a result, the heavy water supply is promoting preemptive measures to strengthen quarantine, such as preventing the spread of wild boars, removing virus contaminants, strengthening quarantine and preventing the spread between farms.

First, to prevent the spread of wild boars, we divide the country into four regions and promote a differentiated wild boar management strategy.

First, the existing areas of the existing wide area fences, such as Hwacheon and Yeoncheon, will always manage the state of blocking the wide area fences, limited gun capture that does not use dogs, and jointly capture and search the civilian forces north of the Civil Control Line.

Next, core measures areas between existing and new wide-area fences such as Gapyeong and Chuncheon will reinforce weak fences such as rivers and intersections at once, and install warning lights and repellents to block wild boars.

In areas with a high density of wild boars, we will allow the capture of guns on a sub-regional basis and use a special mountain search team and search dogs to enhance the effectiveness of the search for dead bodies.

Next, new outbreak areas, Yeongwol and Yangyang, will establish blocking networks using the Central Expressway to block the movement of wild boars.

Capture frames and traps will be intensively installed near the point of occurrence, and gun capture will be actively carried out in other areas.

In order to clearly understand the propagation path, we will strengthen the search for dead bodies in the section between the existing occurrence area and Yeongwol, and conduct environmental inspections on the boar bathhouse and bibimwood. The rest of the area, the Preventive Area, will be preemptively fenced around farm-dense areas.
