[포스트잇]I want to revoke the license for the’killer’ doctor… “Why touch the doctor planting”

On the 19th, an amendment to the medical law that could revoke the license of a doctor who committed serious crimes such as murder or sexual assault passed through the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.

The revised bill, agreed by the opposition parties and the Health and Welfare Committee, prevented re-issuance of a doctor’s license for five years after the execution of the sentence, if a doctor was sentenced to jail. In the case of probation, re-issuance of licenses for two years after the expiration of the period was prohibited. This measure is not a permanent revocation of a doctor’s license, but rather a restriction of a doctor’s license for a certain period of time. Moreover, under the current law, the license may be revoked if other professionals, such as lawyers, public accountants, and judicial officers, commit crimes and are sentenced to imprisonment or higher. A member of the National Assembly also loses his position as a member of parliament if a sentence of more than a jail sentence is confirmed. In particular, in this revised bill, in order to prevent the contraction of active treatment practices, it is possible to maintain a doctor’s license if punished for medical negligence.

However, the Korean Medical Association is strongly protesting against the general strike, saying it will be immortal.
“If the amendment to the medical law passes through the National Assembly Judiciary Committee, 130,000 doctors nationwide will be forced to go on a general strike, and the general strike of doctors will lead to serious obstacles in the diagnosis of Corona 19, treatment support, and vaccination.” Warned.

In the midst of this, Kim Jong-in, chairman of the People’s Forces Hypertrophy Committee, said, “The corona crisis is a continuing process, and it is difficult to understand why doctors try to touch the plant at a time when doctors’ cooperation is absolutely necessary. It took the shape of being empowered.

Nevertheless, Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun said, “The interests of a specific role cannot take precedence over the lives and safety of the people,” and emphasized that “if illegal collective action becomes a reality, the government will respond firmly.”
