[태양열산업 선도기업] Sunda Korea

Sunda Korea (CEO Jang-Hyeon Cho), which has grown into a specialized company that manufactures, designs, and constructs’single vacuum tube type heat pipe type solar heat collector’ among solar heat collectors, is the first in Korea to supply solar heating and cooling systems (80RT) to two places, opening a new market for solar heat systems. It has pioneered and successfully completed the’PTC solar power generation 100kW power generation demonstration study using solar heat’ through a national project. Currently, it is attracting attention because it is developing core technology for condensing solar power plants for supplying industrial process heat below 250℃ based on customers.

Industrial process heat is energy used in the form of heat throughout the industry, and includes all heat such as cold water, hot water, and steam used in manufacturing processes in the industry. The industrial process field uses a boiler system, mostly supplied with fossil fuels, to supply thermal energy.

In domestic industrial facilities (manufacturing), most of them use 5~10kgf/cm² (150~200℃) except for power generation and petrochemical facilities, and manufacturing facilities using steam below 250℃ account for about 70% of the industrial sector. To come.

An official of Sunda Korea said, “According to data on domestic thermal energy consumption analysis, thermal energy consumption in the industrial sector is 58% of the total domestic energy consumption, and more than half of this consumes heat sources below 280℃ that can be supplied by solar systems. Fossil fuel is mainly used for the overall fuel of the facility, and it is a manufacturing facility using a boiler facility, and it emits more than 50% of domestic carbon emissions.”

Construction of a condensing solar thermal demonstration complex

In the meantime, when solar facilities are operated in the steam process, the efficiency is lowered due to the temperature of the condensate and it cannot be applied to facilities other than the preheating function, resulting in poor economic efficiency. In particular, the condensing type, which combines a vacuum tube that can be used for industrial process heat and a condensing type small reflector, has no technology development or production facilities.

Sunda Korea is developing core technology for industrial process heat solar plant that combines △PTC small form application technology △Inorganic coating for condensing reflector △Medium and high temperature heat supply system design △Medium and high temperature smart control technology. To this end, a solar thermal monitoring and operation system, performance evaluation and data facility, as well as a concentrating solar thermal system demonstration complex in Yanghwa Technoville, Jecheon, were built.

The maximum heating temperature of the condensing part was 300℃, and a steam supply system was constructed to the customer through the steam generator, and the prototype was applied to the demonstration complex. It has developed a solar tracking device based on an astronomy (solar position calculation) method and operates a solar tracking system using an all-day insolation meter and illuminance sensor, and is checking the accuracy by checking the light reflection under the vacuum tube.

As there is no standard for performance evaluation of condensing-type collector systems in Korea, the performance evaluation consisted of optical loss, cosine loss, and thermal loss, which are test methods for overseas PTC.

An official of Sunda Korea said, “We have developed operational technologies such as solar tracking equipment, system failure, operation status, and whether or not to operate according to solar radiation, as well as a condensing solar system controller. It also developed a controller and configured web-based integrated monitoring to increase the convenience of maintenance.”

The official said, “The solar thermal system for industrial processes can activate the stagnant solar thermal market and expand the range of solar thermal applications from low temperature to high-temperature industrial sectors. We propose standardization of solar thermal systems for industrial processes and boilers for industrial processes. It is also possible to create high-quality jobs in the new and renewable energy industry by creating a diffusion model in connection with manufacturers.”
