Broadcaster Lee Hyeok-jae (48) was accused of not repaying the tens of millions of won he borrowed from an acquaintance, and expressed his position that he was “embarrassed.”
On the 25th, the accuser, Mr. A, submitted a complaint to the Cheonan-dongnam Police Station in Chungcheongnam-do, stating that he lent money worth 20 million won to Lee Hyeok-jae and did not receive it by the due date.
In a phone call with Maeil Business Daily Star Today, Lee Hyeok-jae said, “I was an acquaintance who was in contact with me just a week ago, but it was a sudden accusation… He said he received the report directly.”
Lee Hyuk-jae said, “I am currently running an advertising agency, but the company is difficult.
More than 1 billion won was not received after working from a foundation. In order to set up a mortgage on the company’s real estate, the company borrowed the expenses necessary for the foreclosure under the name of the corporation. Since 2018, they have borrowed 10 million won and 2 million won, and last month they borrowed 7 million won. He said that he knows well that Mr. A has the money to receive, so he does not understand the sudden complaint.”
Lee Hyeok-jae also said, “I am frustrated because I have not been able to speak to the party. Money can be repaid by borrowing even this week,” he said. “I am sad and hate the world because there are too many articles reported and defamation because of being a known person.”
In 2010, Hyeok-jae Lee stopped broadcasting in 2010 and went bankrupt after doing business to overcome the hardships of life.In 2014, he was sentenced to a fine for failing to pay wages and severance pay for employees of his company.
