Choi Seong-bong (31), the runner-up singer of’Cogottal’, revealed himself about the fight against cancer and promised, “I will overcome it with hope.”

In a phone call with Maeil Business Daily Star Today on the 13th, Choi Seong-bong said, “I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, hypothyroidism and thyroid cancer through a medical examination last May. He recently completed colon cancer surgery, and is facing additional surgery and treatment.”

This is not the first time Choi Seong-bong’s cancer fight.

He developed liver cancer, stomach cancer, and lung cancer as tumors at the age of 17, and recovered his health after chemotherapy. At that time, he was able to receive treatment for free because he was the head of a boy and girl, but he said he was having a difficult time financially due to medical expenses and surgery expenses because he could not get insurance because of his cancer history.

Choi Seong-bong said, “This time, my illness is more serious than the last time. I’ve been fighting the disease invisibly, but as it continues to be metastatic, I write my story on social media. Fans who know my health are helping little by little through sponsorship campaigns. However, it is true that such a large amount of money is insufficient. That’s why I wrote an article asking for donation on social media and posted it.”

Choi Seong-bong took second place in tvN’Korea God Talent Season 1′, which aired in 2011, and was called’Korean Pole Ports’. At that time, the audition did not disclose the history of fighting cancer, but only told the fact that he was suffering from tinnitus, but some people said, “Are you trying to induce sympathy?”

Choi Seong-bong said, “I tried not to talk about the bad comments,’I’m trying to induce sympathy’ again. However, my physical condition continued to deteriorate, so I ended up posting on social media.” “I will overcome it without dying like this. Don’t people call me’the icon of hope’? With that hope, I will overcome it. It is a difficult situation, but I want to communicate with songs without losing hope. We plan to release an album by next year,” he added, and he strengthened his will.

Earlier, Choi Seong-bong said on his SNS, “After completing colorectal cancer surgery, I spent Christmas 2020 at the hospital. We are preparing to undergo further surgery to remove the cancerous polyp from the prostate. “There were 31 cancerous tumors in the neck. It is suspected that there is cancer in the esophagus, so I want to undergo surgery to remove it as soon as possible. However, I am sorry for writing this letter to appeal for donations for some of the treatments I need in the future because the surgery costs about 120,000 dollars.
