[정치]’Will the North Korean Issue Be Pushed?’

In front of the upcoming Biden new administration in the US, there are many domestic and international issues, including Corona.

There are also concerns that peace issues on the Korean Peninsula, including the North Korean nuclear issue, are being pushed out of priority.

President Moon Jae-in is also planning to promote the ROK-US summit as soon as possible.

Even the inauguration ceremony is held in the atmosphere of war, and there are so many pending issues in front of US President-elect Biden.

This is why there is a prospect that the North Korean nuclear issue will not be a priority because there are many things to be dealt with in the international community, such as climate change, diplomacy and security, as well as domestic issues such as corona.

President Moon Jae-in, however, says the North Korean issue will not be pushed back in the new US administration.

President-elect Biden is a supporter of the Sunshine Policy, so he has a deep understanding of the Korean peninsula.

He also said he was not worried about the new security line of the United States, saying that they are well versed in issues on the Korean Peninsula.

At the same time, he emphasized that the North Korean nuclear issue is communicating in order not to fall behind the US diplomatic issue.

Furthermore, President Moon revealed his plans to meet the new president of the United States in person and ask for interest in North Korea issues.

Until now, the US-ROK summit has normally been held around May and June when the new US administration was launched in January.

However, as President Moon announced his intention to rush to meet in person, it is noteworthy whether the schedule for the Korea-US summit can be scheduled in the near future.
