US Secretary of State and Defense will visit Korea-Japan series next week
First ministerial visit since the inauguration of the Biden administration
South Korea and the United States seem to discuss the direction of North Korea policy and summit meetings, etc.

For the first time since the inauguration of the Biden administration, the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense will visit Korea on the 17th.
With the conclusion of the Korea-US defense cost negotiations, the US is accelerating not only to coordinate North Korea policy but also to restore the triangular cooperation between South Korea and Japan aimed at China’s check.

US Secretary of State Tony Blincoln and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will visit South Korea next week following Japan.
The Korea-US foreign ministers’ meeting will be held on the 17th, and the 2+2 talks will be held the next day, in which both foreign affairs and defense ministers will attend.
The Korea-US 2+2 talks have been five years since 2016.
The first ministerial visit since the inauguration of the Biden administration shows a willingness to strengthen the alliance.

The two sides are expected to discuss a wide range of current issues, including the direction of policy toward North Korea, as well as the transition of wartime power and the holding of the ROK-US summit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expected it to be an opportunity to “strengthen communication and cooperation between the two countries on the issue of the Korean Peninsula and regional cooperation, and to develop the ROK-US alliance.”
It is also noteworthy that Secretary of State Blincoln, who is visiting Japan first, will make a breakthrough in resuming dialogue between the ROK and Japan authorities through security cooperation.
This joint visit to Japan is expected to focus above all on restoring the framework of the triangular cooperation between South Korea and Japan to check China.

The Biden administration is speeding up the establishment of the anti-China front, by holding the first quad summit on video on the 12th and strengthening the US-Japan-ROK-US alliance.
