Yesterday, the diplomatic and defense ministers met each other, and now, all four people are gathering together to hold a ‘2+2’ meeting.

At the end of the meeting, a joint statement describing the outcomes of this meeting will also be adopted.

It started at 9:30 a.m. at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building where I am now out.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin arrived 15 minutes earlier, and Secretary of State Tony Blincoln arrived on time and met with South Korean Foreign Minister Jeong-Yong Jeong and Defense Minister Seo-wook, and are holding a 2+2 meeting in earnest.

The first two+2 meetings, held in the first five years since the Moon Jae-in administration and the Biden administration, will be held for about an hour and a half on the agenda of issues of the ROK-US alliance and development directions, issues on the Korean peninsula such as the North Korean nuclear issue, and regional and global cooperation.

The concern is to what extent the outline of the Biden administration’s policy toward North Korea is revealed.

In addition, in the middle of last month, the Biden administration attempted to contact North Korea, but did not receive an answer, and the US message is drawing attention as the North Koreans are pushing for the withdrawal of the US hostile policy toward North Korea with Kim Yeo-jeong and Sun-hee Choi.

In addition, today’s meeting seems to be mentioning the checks against China and cooperation between the US and Japan, which the US has emphasized.

Interest is focused on how much relevant content and level will be contained in the joint statement to be adopted after the meeting.

Both talks reaffirmed the importance of the ROK-US alliance and shared awareness of the urgency of resolving the North Korean nuclear issue.

However, the US side re-emphasized the US-Korea cooperation by officially addressing the North Korean threat and human rights issues along with the Chinese issue.

Above all, the threat of China has been repeatedly highlighted, revealing that one of the objectives of this visit is to contain China.

In particular, it is said that Secretary of State Blincoln mentioned China’s anti-democratic behavior in detail and put a considerable burden on the Korean government trying to maintain a balance amid the US-China conflict.

As if aiming at today’s 2+2 talks, North Korea spoke again this morning?

This is a discourse made by the First Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Sun-hee through the Chosun Central News Agency this early morning.

First Injury Choi Sun-hee said that the United States has attempted to contact New York through various channels through e-mail and fax since mid-last month.

He warned that no North American contact or dialogue could take place unless the US counter-line hostilities policy is withdrawn.

He also stressed that North Korea would not have to respond to the US’ “time-earning” game again, and that it would continue to ignore US contact attempts in the future.

In particular, he pointed out that the only sounds that come out after the change of government in the United States are the insanity of the North Korean threat and a complete denuclearization command.

The first prize also mentioned the last US-North Korea summit.

They said they would not give back the same opportunities as in Singapore or Hanoi, and reiterated that they have already made it clear that they will face the United States on the principle of a strong and first-first line.
