It is in the same vein as the previous statement by the NSC Standing Committee that expressed deep concern over North Korea’s missile launch amid a review of the US policy toward North Korea.

It was also revealed directly that the name of the new Daegu-class frigate launched in 2023 was decided as’Cheonan’.

The Cheonan will be reborn as a 2,800-ton-class main escort capable of carrying out anti-aircraft, anti-ship, and anti-submarine operations as well as on-the-ground warfare.
