Did North Korea react immediately to President Biden’s point of pointing out that North Korea’s ballistic missile launch is a violation of the UN Security Council resolution?

That’s right. Lee Byung-cheol, the head of the Korean military, the secretary of the Central Committee of the Labor Party and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission today presented a talk through the Chosun Central News Agency.

First, he stressed that the launch of a ballistic missile launched on the 25th is an act that belongs to the sovereign state’s right to self-defense.

Nevertheless, he said he expressed strong concern by revealing hostility toward North Korea, saying that it was a violation of the UN resolution after a normal arms test was conducted.

Secretary Lee Byung-cheol accused President Biden’s remarks of blatant violation and provocation of his right to self-defense.

He also warned that he believes that the new regime in the United States has taken off the wrong start, and that if he continues to say anything without making calculations back and forth, he will face bad things.

He emphasized that he will continue to develop the most thorough and overwhelming military power.

In particular, referring to the imposing self-defense right to subdue the U.S. military threat on the U.S. mainland, it implied that the possibility of test-launching the strategic weapon ICBM or the submarine-launched ballistic missile SLBM is not ruled out in the future.

Secretary Lee Byung-cheol’s discourse is analyzed as a pressure tactic to influence the Biden administration’s review of North Korea policy, which is in the final stage.

Accordingly, in the future, North Korea is expected to continue launching tests of new weapons for the time being in order to carry out the weapons development plan announced by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the 8th Party Congress.

Among these, European members of the UN Security Council, including Britain and France, demanded a closed meeting on the 30th to discuss North Korea’s recent missile launch issue.
