Although North Korea’s Vice President Kim Yeo-jeong was demoted at the 8th Party Congress, it is highly analyzed that there is no change in political status.
As a result, a new year law has been proposed that says that we must meet with US Vice President Harris as soon as possible to discuss the North Korean nuclear issue between North America and North Korea.

At the 8th Party Congress, Kim Yeo-jeong’s position was externally lowered.
I was eliminated from the position of candidate committee member of the Political Bureau and relegated from the first vice president of the party to vice president.
However, it is the opinion of the authorities that Vice President Kim Yeo-jeong’s real influence remains.
An official from the Ministry of Unification said, “It is reasonable to see that the actual role and influence of Kim Yeo-jeong continues.”
It is also supported by the fact that Vice Minister Kim publicly accused the Joint Chiefs of Staff of capturing the situation in South Korea through a talk with South Korea on the 12th.
In particular, there is no news that the North Korean leadership has replaced the role of South Korea and the United States, which Mr. Kim has been playing, so it is weighed in that he continues to take on that role.

In view of this status, the argument that U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and Vice President Kim Yeo-jeong should go to talks about the North Korean nuclear issue is drawing attention.
Research Fellow Jung Sung-Sung Wilson Center suggested, “It is necessary to promote the summit meeting after the actual second-party in North America closely discusses denuclearization and countermeasures by the international community.”
Vice Chairman Yeo-Jung Kim points out that he has the strength to make substantial progress in negotiations because he can talk directly with Chairman Kim Jong-un at any time.
In addition, if Vice President Harris goes to the US-North Korea talks, it is expected that the biden administration’s priorities for North Korea policy will be confirmed, as well as the effect of suppressing unexpected provocations by North Korea.
