[정치]Japan’s Takeshima Day’provocation of Dokdo’ again this year… the government calls for immediate cessation

[앵커]

For 15 years, the so-called “Takeshima Day” event, in which Japan claims Dokdo in our territory, is their land, has been repeated.

The government strongly protested and demanded the end of provocations against the Japanese public corporation, which is repeated every year, showing how difficult it is to improve relations between Korea and Japan.

Japan’s government spokesman, Secretary of State Kato, continued to argue against Dokdo.

He announced that he would continue to promote Dokdo Island to the international community by inviting foreign journalists and distributing videos in 11 languages.

The so-called “Takeshima Day” was reiterated, and the event held by Shimane Prefecture, Japan, was attended by vice-ministerial officials.

The government called Hirohisa Soma, the Japanese General Corporation, and protested strongly, saying that Japan is repeating its useless provocations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement as a spokesperson and urged Japan to immediately abolish Dokdo-related events, as Dokdo is our own territory that is clear historically, geographically and internationally.

He also pointed out that we should immediately stop making unreasonable claims and face history with a humble attitude.

Soma Corporation went out to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a firm expression and did not answer any questions from reporters.

Civic groups also held a press conference in front of the Peace Girl Statue and criticized Japan’s distortion of history.

Here, Ramsayer’s distorted dissertation of Japanese military’comfort women’ by Harvard University is also rekindling anti-Japanese public opinion.

The government has long stated the principle that historical issues and Korea-Japan cooperation will be pursued separately, but it seems difficult to improve Korea-Japan relations in the context of frequent issues related to past history.
