[정치]In the question of the former president’s pardon: “National unfortunate situation, but…”

[문재인 대통령]

The issue of amnesty today was said to be the most important question, so I thought a lot, but I decided to just honestly tell you my thoughts.

The fact that the two former presidents are now in prison is very unfortunate nationally. In addition, both of them are very old and have a say that they are not in good health, so I am very worried.

Still, I don’t think now is the time to say pardon. The trial process is just over. The tremendous government-run non-governmental and power-type corruption were confirmed to be true, and the national damage was severe due to the government-run non-governmental and power-type corruption. The pain and wounds suffered by our people are also very great. So, the court sentenced such a very severe and heavy penalty in consideration of the seriousness of the matter.

By the way, to turn around and say pardon as soon as the sentence is over, I don’t think I have the right to say that to the President and other politicians, although pardon is the authority of the President.

Moreover, it is difficult for me to accept this movement, which denies past wrongdoings and demands pardons in the face of disapproving of the results of the trial.

However, I think there are many people who supported the former president, and many of them are very sick or sorry about the current situation. I think it is worth listening to the opinion of achieving national unity through such an amnesty that encompasses even the pain of such people. I think that someday when the right time comes, the time will come when we have to think deeper.

However, the premise is that consensus should be formed among the people. If the people do not sympathize with the amnesty, I think this amnesty cannot be a way of integration. I think that if there is another severe division of national opinion surrounding the amnesty, it will not be conducive to unity, but rather it will be a result of harming national unity.
