With the candidates for the ruling and opposition Seoul mayors by-election in early March, Democratic Party candidates Park Young-seon and Woo Sang-ho are clearing their competitive landscape by breaking away from the so-called’siblings mode’.

Opposition candidates are also likely to be more competitive ahead of the selection of a single finalist.

Park Young-seon and Woo Sang-ho are preliminary candidates of the Dong-A-Democratic Party, who showed a friendly appearance by calling each other as siblings in the early days of the election.

But ahead of this week’s primary election, the two people they met seemed to be more angled than before.

In particular, Candidate Woo raised the intensity of criticism, saying that it is a development agenda that is not like the Democratic Party over Park’s pledge for urban development, which is dominant in various opinion polls.

Candidate Woo is in a position that the support will be reversed by saying that the wind blows after the previous TV debate, while Candidate Park is a strategy that focuses on promoting policy rather than responding to criticism.

The Democratic Party will go through a referendum with party members for four days starting on the 26th to determine the final candidate on the 1st of the following month.

The people’s strength, Na Gyeong-won and Oh Se-hoon, who each emphasized education and support for young entrepreneurship on the holidays, are facing a one-on-one discussion this week.

The power of the people As the candidates for the mayor of Seoul are 100% selected by public opinion polls, both sides are in full swing to secure support from the middle class.

Candidate Na emphasizes that he is the mainstream, where the offensive of other candidates is concentrated, and Candidate Oh emphasizes that he was ahead of the public opinion polls during the primary contest.

Candidate Chul-soo Ahn and Candidate Tae-seop Geum of the National Assembly, who are in the 3rd zone unification contest, are scheduled to compete through the second TV debate on the 25th.

When the unification of the two candidates is concluded on the 1st of next month, discussions for the selection of the final single candidate are expected to begin on the 4th of the following month, when the candidates for the People’s Strength are decided.

With both the ruling and the opposition parties about a week ahead of the selection of the final candidates for the mayor of Seoul, the prospective candidates will be fighting a full-scale battle this week.
