Today, as the 2021 opening ceremony and the January 2nd script meeting are held together, I would like to give you a few words to the people and public officials.

My fellow citizens!

The new morning of the new year was bright.

Happy New Year.

Now we are having a harder winter than any other year with Corona 19.

It feels like my daily life freezes in an instant.

However, through solidarity and cooperation, concessions and consideration, we are well overcoming the worst ordeals.

Each and every citizen is showing the dignity and power of Korea.

Fortunately, economic indicators are improving little by little as a result of exhausting efforts on the difficult quarantine front.

However, the reality experienced in the public welfare field is as cold as a midwinter storm.

In the new year, the government will take the lead in revitalizing and cultivating the spark of hope that the people have been struggling with.

As Prime Minister responsible for public welfare and safety, we pledge to the people.

First, it is a healthier country.

First of all, it is urgent to overcome the current 3rd trend as soon as possible.

To this end, we will confirm today’s quarantine measures, including adjustments to the distancing phase that will end tomorrow, and put our best efforts into practice.

Based on K quarantine, which is a sure asset, from next month, a treatment developed by our own hands and a vaccine that has already been contracted in sufficient quantity will be put into the quarantine field.

If the domestic vaccine, which is being developed with the goal of the end of this year, succeeds, we will be the first country to overcome Corona 19.

Second, it is a better country.

The goal of this year’s economic policy is a rapid and strong economic recovery and a major transformation into a leading economy.

We will steadily implement the Korean version of the New Deal Comprehensive Plan, and the people and the government will work together to achieve a rebound in the people’s livelihood and economy.

Third, it is a safer country.

Protecting the lives and safety of the people from disasters and accidents is the government’s top priority.

We will close the public gap by further strengthening the employment and social safety net.

We will further reinforce policies for fair economy and win-win cooperation.

Finally, it is a country that is more advanced.

Recently, as our soft power such as K quarantine, health care, and Korean Wave has grown, the brand value of Korea is increasing.

Based on this, we will establish ourselves as a country of dignity and strength.

The government will move forward with the attitude of Rosiwoobo toward this goal.

I would like to express my encouragement and request to all public officials across the country.

First of all, I thank you for the hard work of the public officials who are working hard at the forefront of COVID-19 quarantine even at this time.

Thanks to everyone doing their best in their respective positions, we were able to achieve the desired results even in difficult situations last year.

Even in the midst of Corona 19, it showed its potential to successfully take the general election and the SAT.

Hearing the voices of the economy and people’s livelihoods, we lifted the tighter regulations.

It also ranked first in the OECD digital government evaluation last year.

Fellow officials, this year marks the fifth year of the Moon Jae-in administration.

It should be a year in which the work that the government has been promoting will bear fruit.

I’ll just ask you three things.

First, approach the people with a bold policy. The customers of the policy are the people.

In order to make a good policy, it is necessary to accurately read the needs of the people in the field.

Also, good policies are the basis for active administration.

Please make decisions by looking at all issues from the perspective of the people.

Please don’t forget that on the people’s side, we must become a government that gives strength to the people.

Second, please practice balanced administration for all the people.

There should be no setbacks in what the government is doing.

There are no privileges and positions in administration.

Each citizen has the right to receive customized administrative services according to their circumstances and circumstances.

Special consideration is also required for those who are marginalized and for those who are relatively difficult to speak out.

It is up to public officials to speak for their voices.

Third, there is a win-win relationship between local governments, central governments, regions and metropolitan areas.

Fighting Corona 19, I confirmed the outstanding capabilities of local governments.

The potential of K-quarantine was also possible because there were public officials in the local field.

There may be big and small in the province and the center, in the regional and metropolitan area, but there is no high or low.

The future of Korea must be opened up anew with balanced development in which all regions live well and grow naturally.

No matter how cold winter is, you can never overcome the energy of spring.

We will surely restore the precious daily lives of the people so that 2021 can be a spring of hope free from Corona 19.

We will be a government that gives strength to the people.
