It is an immediate and dangerous situation where tensions cannot be relaxed for a moment in the all-round offensive of Corona 19. If the spread does not stop this week, it may be necessary to consider more intensive quarantine measures. The government takes the current situation seriously and wants to start this week with the determination that there is no place to back down.

From tomorrow, the basic quarantine rules will be applied in earnest at the site. Violations will be subject to sanctions, no longer deceased. Relevant ministries and local governments are urged to intensively inspect the facilities under their jurisdiction and respond strictly without exception if violations of the quarantine regulations are confirmed. I once again emphasize to the citizens of the observance of basic quarantine regulations, participation in vaccinations, and refraining from contact with various meetings.

In a moment, the Minister of Welfare and Welfare will release a speech to the public. We urge the people to actively cooperate with a sense of crisis that there is no more safe place from Corona 19.

The heads of local governments in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam were present in today’s script. Busan, Geoje, and Jinju, where the spread of infection is severe, have already raised their social distancing to the second stage. Recently, the green light has been on in our economy one after another. In February, industrial production recovered to pre-Corona 19 levels, and exports continued to increase for five consecutive months. The consumer sentiment index, which had been below 100 for 13 consecutive months, turned into optimism in March, and the business experience of companies is gradually improving.

However, if there is a situation where economic activity is bound to be restricted by the 4th outbreak, the flow of recovery will be cut off. France also started vaccination last year with a swelling dream of economic recovery, but when quarantine collapsed and the medical system was paralyzed, it finally blocked the country again from yesterday. Accordingly, it is estimated that the losses suffered by French companies will be over 14 trillion won per month.

If quarantine is shaken, the economy will inevitably suffer enormous damage. Prevention is the economy. Only when strong quarantine is maintained can vaccination, economy, and daily recovery can be successful. I ask for the unchanging participatory quarantine of all of the citizens so that the rapid economic rebound will bring warmth to every corner of the people’s livelihood.

Today is the clarity that the sky will become clear. Farmers are said to start plowing from today with hope of a year’s harvest. Even if we follow the quarantine rules every day and participate in vaccinations, it may seem that there are no obvious changes right now. However, each of our efforts now will come together and eventually bear the beautiful fruit of overcoming Corona 19.
