Although the spread of Corona 19 continues, fortunately, the condition of hospital beds in the metropolitan area has been found to be improving little by little.

The number of patients waiting for a bed a day in the metropolitan area was once more than 500, but now it has fallen below 100.

Only four people died waiting at home due to Corona 19 for one month in December.

There are dozens of people including nursing hospitals.

Amid an emergency in securing beds, the quarantine authorities announced plans to secure a total of 10,000 beds and achieved 99% of the target in two weeks.

In the metropolitan area, the number of patients waiting for more than a day after getting Corona 19 was once more than 500, but now it has decreased significantly to 96.

We secured an additional 7,760 beds for the life treatment center, 451 beds for the treatment of severe patients, and 1,743 for the hospital dedicated to infectious diseases.

Except for hospitals dedicated to infectious diseases, all of them exceeded the target, and the authorities plan to add 394 in this area through public offerings of private medical institutions.

As a result, the number of hospital beds available for immediate hospitalization nationwide has improved significantly.

In the case of the metropolitan area with the largest number of Corona 19 patients, there are more than 5,000 hospital beds in the life treatment center, 400 hospitals dedicated to infectious diseases, and 80 beds for critically ill patients.

For the efficient use of hospital beds, we will designate a person in charge of determining patient allocation for each medical institution, and reasonably review the criteria for quarantine release.

In particular, the authorities said they will strengthen their medical response capabilities so that they can receive appropriate treatment even if more than 1,000 patients continue to occur per day.
