[전국]PyeongChang banal and serial infection…Over 8,000 inhabitants total investigation

Nearly forty residents in the Myeon area in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, were diagnosed with Corona 19 in two days.

Most of the government offices are closed, and over 8,000 residents are being tested.

The town was empty.

Instead, vehicles and people flocked to the Pyeongchang River Dunchi Screening Clinic.

Jinbu-myeon, Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, where there is a large floating population along the Yeongdong Expressway.

Nearly 40 confirmed cases in two days, including kindergarteners and nursing care workers.

Over 4,000 households, 8,700 people.

All residents were subject to inspection.

This is the second survey of all residents at the Myeon unit since last year’s December 12th year of serial infection at Yongpyeong Ski Resort.

The exact route of infection is being tracked, but prior to spreading to the region, confirmed patients and residents in Seoul, Sejong, and Gangneung areas contacted each other.

In the case of a family in contact with a confirmed patient who visited a hospital from Seoul, 9 family members, from a one-year-old child to a great-grandparent in their 80s, were infected at once.

Infection among families spread rapidly through residents’ gatherings, and government offices were no exception.

In a short period of time, a chain of infection spread in the unit area. Not only public health centers, cotton offices, but also police box staff were tested positive, and a few public institutions were mostly closed.

Kindergarten and elementary, middle, and high school classes were suspended, and senior citizens’ gatherings and cultural centers were also closed.

As all residents are being examined, the number of confirmed cases is expected to increase, and the quarantine authorities are deepening their concerns.
