The damage from the explosion seems to be significant, can you tell us the situation on the site?

[기자]

Yes, we are currently working on cleaning up the remaining payments and searching for the missing persons.

Smoke keeps rising from the factory building, and the smell still remains.

Debris was scattered around the factory due to the explosion, and nearby factories and houses were also damaged.

A fire started with a loud explosion in an electronic component manufacturing plant in Noseong-myeon, Nonsan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, around 1:50 a.m. today.

The fire department initiated the second phase of the response to extinguish the fire, and set the flames at around 5:20 am, which was three and a half hours later.

There have been eight injured people so far.

First of all, four factory workers were injured, and two were classified as seriously injured due to severe burns.

In addition, an employee in his 30s who was working with him disappeared, and rescuers are working on a search.

Three paramedics were also injured.

Before the fire broke out, they were reported to have fallen and were dispatched to the factory, and when they arrived, an ambulance fell over and injured.

In addition, the window of a private house near the factory was broken, and a resident was injured by debris.

The scale of property damage is also expected to be significant.

This is because all seven buildings of the factory that had exploded were burned, and nearby private houses and factories also suffered damage from glass windows and other damage.

There were a lot of hazardous chemicals such as methanol and toluene in factories that had a fire, so people were once ordered to evacuate.

Environmental authorities surveyed the concentration of hazardous chemicals in the air at factories and nearby villages, and found that it was not enough to harm humans.
