The debris scattered around the factory tells of the impact at the time of the explosion.

Currently, heavy equipment is being mobilized to extinguish residual fires.

Smoke keeps rising from the factory building, and the smell still remains.

A fire started with a loud explosion in an electronic component manufacturing plant in Noseong-myeon, Nonsan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, around 1:50 a.m. today.

The fire department initiated the second phase of the response to extinguish the fire, and set the flames at around 5:20 am, which was three and a half hours later.

One additional resident who received treatment at the hospital was confirmed, and the number of injured people increased to nine.

First of all, 4 factory workers were injured, 2 were classified as seriously injured due to severe burns, and 3 paramedics were also injured.

Prior to the fire, a person was reported to have collapsed, and they were dispatched to the factory, and upon arrival, an ambulance fell over and injured.

In addition, two residents were injured by fragments such as broken windows in a private house near the factory.

The scale of property damage is also expected to be significant.

This is because all seven buildings were burned at the factory where the explosion occurred, and nearby factories and houses were also damaged by glass windows and damage throughout the building.

There were a lot of hazardous chemicals such as methanol and toluene in factories that had a fire, so people were once ordered to evacuate.

Environmental authorities have investigated the concentration of hazardous chemicals in the air and found that it is not harmful to humans.
